Faroese personal pronouns : I

A personal pronoun is what we call the English words 'I', 'you', 'he', 'she', 'we' and 'they'. Just like English, Faroese has a set of personal pronouns. The Faroese word for 'I' is 'eg'. The word 'eg' is generally used as the subject of a verb ('I go', 'I see', 'I work' etc.). The Faroese words for 'me' in general are 'meg' and 'mær'. The words 'meg' and 'mær' are typically used with prepositions. The word 'meg' is a direct pronoun. The word 'mær' is an indirect pronoun.
