German demonstrative pronouns : this

Demonstrative pronouns are used with nouns to make them more specific. The English demonstrative pronoun 'this' has different forms in German depending on whether the word to which it belongs is masculine, feminine or neuter. The demonstrative pronoun for masculine words is 'dieser'. For feminine words, it is 'diese' and for neuter words it is 'dieses'.

Using the nouns Buch, Stuhl and Tür (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use the demonstrative pronouns with each of these nouns (this book, that chair, these doors).
