Simple Romanian sentences

In a typical sentence in Romanian which uses the verb 'to be', the verb is placed between the subject and the attribute as in English. In the singular, the verb 'to be' is 'este'. In the plural, the verb 'to be' is 'sunt'.

Examples

Fata este mică.

The girl is small.

Fata este drăguţă.

The girl is pretty.

Fata este leneșă.

The girl is lazy.

Fata este isteață.

The girl is smart.

Fata este mare.

The girl is big.
