Dutch demonstrative pronouns : this

Demonstrative pronouns are used with nouns to make them more specific. The English demonstrative pronoun 'this' is 'deze' or 'dit' in Dutch. The word 'deze' is used with masculine words and feminine words. The word 'dit' is used with neuter words.

Step 6 : Dutch demonstrative pronouns

Demonstrative pronouns are used to refer to specific objects and their locations. In English, this would be the words this and these to refer to objects which are near and that and those to refer to objects which are further away. Using the nouns boek, stoel and deur (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use the demonstrative pronouns with each of these nouns (this book, that chair, these doors). After you've learned to use the Dutch demonstrative pronouns with the nouns boek, stoel and deur and the plural nouns boeken, stoelen and deuren you can move on to Step 7 (Dutch adjectives).
