Verbs are used to describe actions. Finnish verbs are conjugated for each person. The conjugation consists of an ending placed on the verb stem. For the first person singular, Finnish verbs typically use the ending '-n'.

Step 8 : Finnish verbs

Verbs are used to describe actions. There are 1000's of verbs that you can learn in Finnish. A good approach would be to start out by learning just three Finnish verbs by heart. We suggest you learn the Finnish verbs nähdä, tahtoa and pitää (see, want, like). Using the nouns kirja, tuoli and ovi (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use each verb with each noun (I want the book, you see the chair, they like the door etc.). After you've learned using the three verbs nähdä, tahtoa and pitää by heart you can move on to Step 9 (Finnish possessive pronouns).
