Greek adjectives

Adjectives are generally used to describe nouns. Adjectives come before the noun in Greek as in English. Adjectives in Greek agree with the noun they describe. This means that adjectives that describe a feminine noun have a special form.

Step 7 : Adjectives in Greek

Adjectives are used to describe nouns. To get started, we suggest you learn the three Greek adjectives μεγάλο, μικρό and γέρος (big, small, old). Using the nouns βιβλίο, καρέκλα and πόρτα (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use each adjective with each noun (the big book, the old chair, the small door). You can scroll to the top of this page to see a short lesson about Greek adjectives including useful examples. After you've learned to use the adjectives μεγάλο, μικρό and γέρος with the nouns βιβλίο, καρέκλα and πόρτα you can move on to Step 8 (Greek Verbs).
