Hebrew verb conjugation: I

Verbs are used to describe actions. Hebrew verbs are conjugated for each person. The conjugation consists of an ending placed on the verb stem. A unique feature of Hebrew is that it conjugates differently for males and females. For males, Hebrew verbs do not use a verb ending in the third person singular. For females, Hebrew verbs use the ending '-á/-ét'.

Verbs are used to describe actions. There are 1000's of verbs that you can learn in Hebrew. A good approach would be to start out by learning just three Hebrew verbs by heart. We suggest you learn the Hebrew verbs li raót, li rotsót and le aháv (see, want, like). Using the nouns séfer, kisé and délet (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use each verb with each noun (I want the book, you see the chair, they like the door etc.). After you've learned using the three verbs li raót, li rotsót and le aháv by heart you can move on to Step 9 (Hebrew possessive pronouns).
