Icelandic adjectives

Adjectives are generally used to describe nouns. Adjectives come before the noun in Icelandic as in English. Adjectives in Icelandic agree with the noun they describe. This means that adjectives that describe a feminine noun have a special form.

Step 7 : Adjectives in Icelandic

Adjectives are used to describe nouns. To get started, we suggest you learn the three Icelandic adjectives stór, lítill and gamall (big, small, old). Using the nouns bók, stóll and hurð (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use each adjective with each noun (the big book, the old chair, the small door). After you've learned to use the adjectives stór, lítill and gamall with the nouns bók, stóll and hurð you can move on to Step 8 (Icelandic Verbs).
