Icelandic personal pronouns : I

A personal pronoun is what we call the English words 'I', 'you', 'he', 'she', 'we' and 'they'. Just like English, Icelandic has a set of personal pronouns. The Icelandic word for 'I' is 'ég'. The word 'ég' is generally used as the subject of a verb ('I go', 'I see', 'I work' etc.). The Icelandic words for 'me' in general are 'mig' and 'mér'. The words 'mig' and 'mér' are typically used with prepositions. The word 'mig' is a direct pronoun. The word 'mér' is an indirect pronoun.
