A personal pronoun is what we call the English words 'I', 'you', 'he', 'she', 'we' and 'they'. Just like English, Khmer has a set of personal pronouns. The English word 'I' is a pronoun in the first person singular. The Khmer word for 'I' is 'könyóm'.

Verbs are used to describe actions. There are 1000's of verbs that you can learn in Khmer. A good approach would be to start out by learning just three Khmer verbs by heart. We suggest you learn the Khmer verbs čöŋkön, čöŋban and jōljèt (see, want, like). Using the nouns siyapáwo, kawáyi and tveyar (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use each verb with each noun (I want the book, you see the chair, they like the door etc.). After you've learned using the three verbs čöŋkön, čöŋban and jōljèt by heart you can move on to Step 9 (Khmer possessive pronouns).
