Lingala adjectives

Adjectives are generally used to describe nouns. Lingala, however, has only a handful of true adjectives. In Lingala, in the place of adjectives nouns are generally used, together with the word 'ya'.

Adjectives are used to describe nouns. To get started, we suggest you learn the three Lingala adjectives monene, moke and mokoli (big, small, old). Using the nouns buku, kiti and ekuke (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use each adjective with each noun (the big book, the old chair, the small door).
