The Manx definite article

The definite article is what we call the word 'the' in English. The definite article is used with nouns. For nouns in the singular, the English definite article 'the' is 'yn' in Manx. The word 'yn' is not used for nouns in the plural.

The nouns together with the definite article are yn lioar, yn chaair and yn dorrys (the book, the chair, the door).
