Mongolian verb conjugation: I

Verbs are used to describe actions. Mongolian verbs in the present tense do not conjugate for each person. This means that the verb stays the same for 'I', 'you', 'he', 'they' etc. This is similar to the case in English.

Step 8 : Mongolian verbs

Verbs are used to describe actions. There are 1000's of verbs that you can learn in Mongolian. A good approach would be to start out by learning just three Mongolian verbs by heart. We suggest you learn the Mongolian verbs qaraq, qüseq and tałagdaq (see, want, like). Using the nouns nom, sandał and qałak (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use each verb with each noun (I want the book, you see the chair, they like the door etc.). You can scroll to the top of this page to see a short lesson about Mongolian verbs including useful examples. After you've learned using the three verbs qaraq, qüseq and tałagdaq by heart you can move on to Step 9 (Mongolian possessive pronouns).
