Short Turkish lesson

Turkish verb conjugation: I

Verbs are used to describe actions. Turkish verbs are conjugated for each person. The conjugation consists of an ending placed on the verb stem. For the first person singular, Turkish verbs typically use the ending '-um'. Important to note is that pronouns are not used with the verb in Turkish except to create emphasis. This means that, unlike English, the verb is in general used without a pronoun.

Examples

Ben aileye yardım ediyorum
I help the family
ben talep ediyorum
I request
ben bekliyorum
I wait
ben şarkı söylüyorum
I sing
