A unique feature of Norwegian is that, unlike English, the definite article comes after the noun as a suffix. The English definite article the has different forms in Norwegian depending on whether the word to which it belongs is masculine, feminine or neuter. The definite article for masculine words is -en. For feminine words, it is -a and for neuter words it is -et.

I used to think that it's not possible to learn a language unless you're a child but now I see that's not true. Gradually I began to do the course in Norwegian and I speak the language. It's amazing with which ease one learns the words. I first started the course myself and then a few months later my husband started. Now, in good fun we talk to each other on the subway in Norwegian. I recommend it.

In general, the course has been useful to me. I find it to be an effective product with the exception of a few errors in the Italian.

Neither my husband nor I have any background in the language, and we both need to see the word when
we hear it, or we can't pick out clearly enough what is being said.
This disk has basic words, phrases & grammar that you can hear and see at the same time. It's not going
to teach you to be fluent, but it will give you some basic idea to get you that first step. the 'quizzing' isn't
really quizzing, it gives you the answer pretty readily, but it's a good starting point. I would definetely
recommend it to someone with no background in Norwegian.
