Speak! Norwegian keeps track of which words and phrases you've already learned and those you still need to practice. Each topic provides listening practice, a printable Norwegian-English lexicon and the opportunity to record your voice and see how your pronunciation compares with Norwegian native speakers.
First of all, I liked the simple layout which identifies the key learning points for beginners. Regarding the grammar and pronunciation sections, they are very useful and well put together. The stories could be a little bit more interesting. Overall the course is well structured and it really does help you learn.

The software is really fun to use. I would not hesitate to buy another language in the series.

Neither my husband nor I have any background in the language, and we both need to see the word when
we hear it, or we can't pick out clearly enough what is being said.
This disk has basic words, phrases & grammar that you can hear and see at the same time. It's not going
to teach you to be fluent, but it will give you some basic idea to get you that first step. the 'quizzing' isn't
really quizzing, it gives you the answer pretty readily, but it's a good starting point. I would definetely
recommend it to someone with no background in Norwegian.

I used to think that it's not possible to learn a language unless you're a child but now I see that's not true. Gradually I began to do the course in Norwegian and I speak the language. It's amazing with which ease one learns the words. I first started the course myself and then a few months later my husband started. Now, in good fun we talk to each other on the subway in Norwegian. I recommend it.
