Norwegian verb conjugation: I

Verbs are used to describe actions. Norwegian verbs in the present tense do not conjugate for each person. This means that the verb stays the same for 'I', 'you', 'he', 'they' etc. This is similar to the case in English.

Step 8 : Norwegian verbs

Verbs are used to describe actions. There are 1000's of verbs that you can learn in Norwegian. A good approach would be to start out by learning just three Norwegian verbs by heart. We suggest you learn the Norwegian verbs se, ville and like (see, want, like). Using the nouns bok, stol and dør (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use each verb with each noun (I want the book, you see the chair, they like the door etc.). You can scroll to the top of this page to see a short lesson about Norwegian verbs including useful examples. After you've learned using the three verbs se, ville and like by heart you can move on to Step 9 (Norwegian possessive pronouns).
