Shona personal pronouns : I

A personal pronoun is what we call the English words 'I', 'you', 'he', 'she', 'we' and 'they'. Just like English, Shona has a set of personal pronouns. The English word 'I' is a pronoun in the first person singular. The Shona word for 'I' is 'ini'.

Adjectives are used to describe nouns. To get started, we suggest you learn the three Shona adjectives hombe, -diki and -wekare (big, small, old). Using the nouns bhuku, chigaro and gonhi (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use each adjective with each noun (the big book, the old chair, the small door).
