Simple Azer­baijani sentences

In the present tense, where an English sentence would use the verb 'to be', a typical sentence in Azerbaijani does not use a verb at all. Just the subject and the attribute are used without a verb.

Qızlar ağıllıdır.
The girls are smart.
Qızlar güclüdür.
The girls are strong.
Qızlar böyükdür.
The girls are big.
Qızlar kiçikdir.
The girls are small.
Qızlar qəşəngdir.
