Simple Chinese sentences

In the present tense, where an English sentence would use the verb 'to be', a typical sentence in Chinese does not use a verb at all. Just the subject and the attribute are used without a verb.

Mă shì xiăo.
The horse is small.
Mă shì bái de.
The horse is white.
Mă shì dà de.
The horse is big.
Mă shì lăo.
The horse is old.
