Simple Czech sentences

In a typical sentence in Czech which uses the verb 'to be', the verb is placed between the subject and the attribute as in English. In the singular, the verb 'to be' is 'je'. In the plural, the verb 'to be' is 'jsou'.

Examples

Okno je čisté.

The window is clean.

Okno je špinavé.

The window is dirty.

Okno je malé.

The window is small.

Okno je otevřené.

The window is open.

Okno je velké.

The window is big.
