Simple Estonian sentences

In a typical sentence in Estonian which uses the verb 'to be', the verb is placed between the subject and the attribute as in English. The verb 'to be' is 'on' in both the singular and the plural.

Aknad on suured.
The windows are big.
Aknad on väikesed.
The windows are small.
Aknad on lahti.
The windows are open.
Aknad on määrdunud.
The windows are dirty.
