Simple Indo­nesian sentences

In the present tense, where an English sentence would use the verb 'to be', a typical sentence in Indonesian does not use a verb at all. Just the subject and the attribute are used without a verb.

Wanita-wanita tua.
The women are old.
Wanita-wanita muda.
The women are young.
Wanita-wanita senang.
