Simple Italian sentences

In a typical sentence in Italian which uses the verb 'to be', the verb is placed between the subject and the attribute as in English. In the singular, the verb 'to be' is 'è'. In the plural, the verb 'to be' is 'sono'.

Examples

Le mele sono buone.
The apples are good.
Le mele sono verdi.
The apples are green.
Le mele sono rosse.
The apples are red.
Le mele sono grandi.
The apples are big.
Le mele sono rotonde.
