Simple Maltese sentences

In the present tense, where an English sentence would use the verb 'to be', a typical sentence in Maltese does not use a verb at all. Just the subject and the attribute are used without a verb.


It-tieqa maħmuġa.
The window is dirty.
It-tieqa magħluqa.
The window is closed.
It-tieqa żgħira.
The window is small.
It-tieqa nadifa.
