Simple Mongolian sentences

In a typical sentence in Mongolian which uses the verb 'to be', the verb is placed between the subject and the attribute as in English. The verb 'to be' is 'ban' in both the singular and the plural.


Emegtē gunigtai yom.
The woman is sad.
Emegtē üzesgelhentē yom.
The woman is beautiful.
Emegtē qögšin yom.
The woman is old.
Emegtē az jargalhtai yom.
The woman is happy.
Emegtē zalhū yom.
The woman is young.
