Simple Polish sentences

In a typical sentence in Polish which uses the verb 'to be', the verb is placed between the subject and the attribute as in English. In the singular, the verb 'to be' is 'jest'. In the plural, the verb 'to be' is 'są'.

Examples

Kobiety są stare.

The women are old.

Kobiety są młode.

The women are young.

Kobiety są piękne.

The women are beautiful.

Kobiety są smutne.

The women are sad.

Kobiety są szczęśliwe.

The women are happy.
