Simple Turk­men sentences

In the present tense, where an English sentence would use the verb 'to be', a typical sentence in Turkmen does not use a verb at all. Just the subject and the attribute are used without a verb.

Penjirä açyk.
The window is open.
Penjirä kiçi.
The window is small.
Penjire hapa.
The window is dirty.
Penjirä ýapyk.
The window is closed.
Penjire uly.
