Simple Viet­namese sentences

In a typical sentence in Vietnamese which uses the verb 'to be', the verb is placed between the subject and the attribute as in English. If the attribute is an adjective the verb form 'thì' is used. If the attribute is a noun the verb form '' is used.

Con ngựa đen.
The horse is black.
Con ngựa lớn.
The horse is big.
Con ngựa nhỏ.
The horse is small.

The horse is white.
Con ngựa già.
