Tamil verb conjugation: I

Verbs are used to describe actions. Tamil verbs are conjugated for each person. The conjugation consists of an ending placed on the verb stem. For the first person singular, Tamil verbs typically use the ending '-kirēn'.

Step 8 : Tamil verbs

Verbs are used to describe actions. There are 1000's of verbs that you can learn in Tamil. A good approach would be to start out by learning just three Tamil verbs by heart. We suggest you learn the Tamil verbs pārkka, vēntum and viruppam (see, want, like). Using the nouns putakam, nārkāli and katavu (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use each verb with each noun (I want the book, you see the chair, they like the door etc.). You can scroll to the top of this page to see a short lesson about Tamil verbs including useful examples. After you've learned using the three verbs pārkka, vēntum and viruppam by heart you can move on to Step 9 (Tamil possessive pronouns).
