Uzbek verb conjugation: I

Verbs are used to describe actions. Uzbek verbs are conjugated for each person. The conjugation consists of an ending placed on the verb stem. For the first person singular, Uzbek verbs typically use the ending '-man'. Important to note is that pronouns are not used with the verb in Uzbek except to create emphasis. This means that, unlike English, the verb is in general used without a pronoun.

Verbs are used to describe actions. There are 1000's of verbs that you can learn in Uzbek. A good approach would be to start out by learning just three Uzbek verbs by heart. We suggest you learn the Uzbek verbs ko'rmoq, tilamoq and yoqtirmoq (see, want, like). Using the nouns kitob, stul and eshik (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use each verb with each noun (I want the book, you see the chair, they like the door etc.). After you've learned using the three verbs ko'rmoq, tilamoq and yoqtirmoq by heart you can move on to Step 9 (Uzbek possessive pronouns).
