A unique feature of Maltese is that it conjugates its verbs by adding a prefix to the front of the verb. A different prefix is used for each person. For the third person singular, most verbs in Maltese use the prefix 't-'.
Maltese is spoken by about 400,000 people in Malta (the islands of Malta and Gozo). It is an official language of the European Union. It is descended from Arabic and written using the Latin alphabet. If you are planning on doing some travelling, learning Maltese would be a great way to make the most of your trip.
