Khmer personal pronouns : I

A personal pronoun is what we call the English words 'I', 'you', 'he', 'she', 'we' and 'they'. Just like English, Khmer has a set of personal pronouns. The English word 'I' is a pronoun in the first person singular. The Khmer word for 'I' is 'könyóm'.

Adjectives are used to describe nouns. To get started, we suggest you learn the three Khmer adjectives tom, tauč and jasa (big, small, old). Using the nouns siyapáwo, kawáyi and tveyar (book, chair, door) which you learned in Step 3, learn to use each adjective with each noun (the big book, the old chair, the small door).
